"Holograph, signed. Richard Webb presumably wrote this letter to Anne Warren Weston. Richard Webb reports the death of his father, Richard Davis Webb. Richard Webb and his brother would have sent Anne W. Weston memorial cards had they known her address. He gives an account of his father's state of health and increasing weakness from the time Richard Webb returned from California four months ago. Toward the end his father \"became anxious to go.\" He took leave of his family on the evening of July 13th, then passed into unconsciousness and died at two o'clock the next morning. Richard Davis Webb was in his 68th year. The injury that Richard Davis Webb received on Lake Superior four years before is believed by the doctors to have hastened his death."
