"Holograph, signed. In this letter, Augustus Hesse wrote: \"Herewith I informe [sic] you and my Wife, that we got Marching Order, but we do not know where to--\" He requests that Deborah Weston not send him the box now, until he knows more about their movements. Hesse said: \"They say a great Battle is going on--all the Boys are in great spirits and eager to fight.\" Hesse ends the letter with this thought: \"I shall not forget you even in the hotest Battle.\" The battle mentioned in this letter is the Battle of Fredericksburg."
