He requests that his wife Almira be met upon her arrival in North Braintree by \"our old true Horse I use[d] to drive.\" Hesse received 4 months of pay by accident, instead of the 6 months of pay owed to him. In the postscript, Augustus Hesse promises to write his next letter to the doctor [Hervey Weston]. Hesse says: \"I shall give him the knowle[d]ge of my comfort here in Philadelphia the splendid old good Wine I drink now to make me strong to be ready to fight the Rebels.\""
