notes
"Holograph. Deborah Weston tells about seeing Mary Gray Chapman, who was very nervous and irritable. Mary Gray Chapman \"was very thankful to be rid of you, but it hadn't done her the good she expected.\" Joseph Ricketson told Deborah that he had spoken to Sumner about [Henry] Willey, editor of the New Bedford Star, for whom he wished to obtain a post as secretary of the legation. Deborah mentions the death of Judge [Lemuel] Shaw. She concludes the letter by asking: \"I wonder if anybody will dare to Med.\""
