Edmonia Lewis is distressed because no one has written her about her group of sculptures, \"Forever free.\" She wants to know what has become of it and if Mr. [Samuel Edmund?] Sewall has the money for it yet, as she is in great financial need. Lewis writes: \"What little money I had I put all in that work with my heart.\" She requests that Mrs. Chapman see Mr. Sewall and ask him if he has been paid the $800 and to send her the money."
