Boston Public Library (Rare Books Department) manuscript composed in black ink on stationery bearing the letterhead \"Huntly Lodge, Edinburgh.\" Under the salutation the number \"171\" is written in pencil. Alongside the signature an asterisk is drawn in black ink and below the signature another asterisk begins the sentence \"Of Kentucky birth. One of the Lane Seminary seceders of 1834.\", which is written in a different handwriting from the rest of the letter. The folder also contains an envelope addressed to \"Wm Lloyd Garrison Esq\". Along the side of the envelope, \"Rev. J.A. Thome, Edinburgh, July 17, 1867.\" is written in pencil, vertically. On the back of the envelope, there is a monogram with the initials, \"E P N\"."
