"Holograph, signed with initials. Maria Weston Chapman writes that \"William Jay is safe & well, and Meade's staff have been thanked for their bravery.\" Captain Aschmitz(?) said that \"William was the one for he did the whole as both he & his horse held out.\" The rest of the letter is concerned with directions for making dresses. They now have a basement where women work, whereas they used to be obliged \"to break these women in at the other houses.\""
