He discusses the commercial situation of the Civil War. He writes: \"Louisiana is entering our possession, & we shall soon have Vicksburg. Gold on Hooker's retreat went to 56---this morning tis 50 1/2...\" R. Warren Weston asks if Augustus Hesse was in the fight."
