May has repeatedly told his readers that he was \"only attempting to give sketches---not a complete history of the Anti-Slavery conflict.\" May requests that Maria Weston Chapman revive his recollections of Nathaniel P. Rogers. He also asks about the name of a New Hampshire lawyer \"who went to New Orleans to settle the estate of a deceased brother---found it insolvent---and was obliged to allow his brother's daughters and their mother to be sold as part of the assets.\""
