"Holograph, signed. William Lloyd Garrison gives a detailed account of Henry Egbert Benson's improved health. Henry E. Benson is being cared for Mrs. Southwick, in the home of Joseph Southwick. Garrison praises Mrs. Southwick and her skill as a physician. Garrison will write to Samuel Joseph May about the extraordinary case of a former slave. William L. Garrison and George William Benson spoke to an audience at the monthly concert of prayer for the slaves. The anti-slavery men in Boston are drowsy, while the women are wide awake. There was a procession to honor the late President Madison, who has left about a hundred slaves in bondage. Today, William L. Garrison moved his wife and baby out of Mrs. Southwick's house to one room in Miss Parker's house."
