notes
"Holograph, signed. William Lloyd Garrison has been ill since his arrival in Brooklyn, Conn., but he is feeling better now. Garrison thanks Edmund Quincy for his generosity. He comments on the unexpected liberal donation made by Andrew Robeson of New Bedford, which is to be reckoned as part of Garrison's salary. Oliver Johnson is now the editor de facto of the Liberator. Garrison expects calumnies in Philadelphia. Garrison has been denounced by a minister in Vermont. Garrison says that \"Dr. Channing is mistaken. It is possible even for an abolitionist to take advice.\""
