"Holograph, signed with initials. William Lloyd Garrison wanted to visit Oxford, Warwick, and Stratford-upon-Avon, but he lacked the money to do so. He called on William E. Forster, who urged him to listen to the debate on the reform bill in Parliament. Garrison did so and was very much impressed by William Ewart Gladstone, John Bright, and John Stuart Mill. Garrison tells about the crowds in Paris. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Villard went to Paris to see his dying father. William Lloyd Garrison is grateful to Julia Randall and Mrs. Mary Ann White Johnson for their kindness to Mrs. Helen Eliza Garrison. William Lloyd Garrison comments on William Lloyd Garrison Jr.'s plan to move out of Rockledge and set up housekeeping."
