He spoke in Mr. Emery's meetinghouse in Taunton even though Mr. Emery is not a \"Garrisonite.\" At Fall River, Garrison addressed a good audience in Mr. Fowler's meetinghouse; Fowler hates Garrison like a rattlesnake. In Providence, he lectured to a crowded audience in the Masonic Hall. On page two of this manuscript, William Lloyd Garrison continues this letter on Monday afternoon, [May 6]. Garrison gives news of friends and relatives. Garrison has read of the attempt to blow up the the anti-slavery depository in Hartford. George William Benson was in the building at the time of the explosion. No one was injured from the explosion. James G. Birney has attacked the non-resistant abolitionists in the last issue of the Emancipator."
