William Lloyd Garrison pays tribute to Francis Jackson: \"But you had nothing to learn of me, in regard to the sacred rights of conscience, the freedom of the mind, and the duty of standing by the right, at all hazards, whether solitary or backed up by a multitude.\" Francis Jackson had the good fortune in a early period to throw off the \"terrible theology\" that dominated the New England mind. Jackson's last public act was presiding at the 20th anniversary of the mob of 1835. Captain Warren Weston of Weymouth has died."
