"Holograph, signed with initials. William Lloyd Garrison describes a dinner with Mr. Adie and his family, which included Miss Tillinghast and Mrs. Dean of Taunton as guests. This forenoon, Garrison spent half an hour talking to Phoebe Jackson. Garrison writes: \"I have just come from a visit with Charlotte to the Colored Shelter, where I found twenty-eight little children, looking very bright and in a very comfortable condition. They sung several pieces, and spell quite a number of words very correctly.\" Miss Mann works at the shelter, and Miss Van Dorn is the matron of the house. Louisa Tibbitts called and is looking as fair as ever. Includes an envelope with the delivery address: Mrs. Helen E. Garrison, Highland Street, Roxbury, Mass. It is postmarked Providence, R. I., Dec. 6."
