The women prominent in the temperance convention were Lucretia Mott, Lucy Stone, and Antoinette Brown, etc. Garrison is staying with James S. Gibbons. Garrison saw the play \"Uncle Tom's Cabin\" at the National Theatre; he liked the performance in Boston better. He heard Antoinette Brown preach on Sunday. At the anti-slavery meeting in the afternoon, the speakers were: Charles C. Burleigh, Sojourner Truth, and William L. Garrison. The evening meeting was addressed by O. Johnson, Lucretia Mott, and Lucy Stone; their speeches were interrupted by rowdies and Southerners in the audience."
