notes
"Handwritten copy of letter; not William Lloyd Garrison's handwriting. In this letter, William Lloyd Garrison responds to the Groton Anti-Slavery Society's invitation to lecture. Garrison must go to the New Hampshire state convention to help settle the question of Nathaniel P. Roger's editorship of the National Anti-Slavery Standard. The seceders (from the Garrisonians) fear his caustic pen. He compares the English landscape with the scenery at home. Henry Grafton Chapman is ill, and \"the worst of it is, he is in the hands of a regular physician!\""
