notes
"Holograph, signed. William Lloyd Garrison is delighted to hear what Francis Jackson is doing to enlarge the South Cove. He is happy that William A. White has gone on a great western anti-slavery tour. The donation made by Thomas Sturge was liberal and timely, justifying the faith that money would come forth to support the western conventions. Garrison refers to a gift of land made by J. C. Gore and its acquisition in the name of the Massachusetts Anti-Slavery Society. Garrison looks forward to Francis Jackson and Nathaniel P. Rogers visiting Northampton."
