In this letter, William Lloyd Garrison discusses the controversy regarding the Sabbath and the \"Call for a Convention to protest against penal legislation in favor of a Sabbatical observance, and to explode a mischievous delusion everywhere prevailing, that one day in the week is more holy than another---that we are to give one-seventh portion of our time to God, and the rest we may devote to 'secular' matters!\" William Lloyd Garrison considers it \"one of the great reformatory movements of the age.\" He lists the titles and authors of the ten projected essays on the Sabbath question that will be discussed and presented at the convention. He comments on the \"Sabbatical operations\" by the Free Church in Scotland and Dr. Candlish. He acknowledges the gift of $50 made by Edward Morris Davis towards the anti-Sabbath convention."
