Garrison says about George Bourne: \"Never has slavery had a more indomitable foe or freedom a truer friend.\" This letter was printed in the newspaper article \"Who Lighted the Fires of Freedom?\" by Mr. Theodore Bourne, n.d., in an unidentified periodical; the whereabouts of the original letter is unknown. The article is about the life of George Bourne, especially focusing on his work as an author and abolitionist crusader. William L. Garrison is mentioned in the article in a very complimentary manner.
