notes
"Holograph, signed with initials. William Lloyd Garrison writes this letter before leaving for Princeton, Illinois. Mr. and Mrs. Norman B. Judd dined with him. Garrison moved out of Lemuel Freer's home to the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Doggett. Garrison is very troubled by a hoarse voice, caused partly by lecturing and partly by talking to people afterwards. He went to hear Robert Collyer preach and met Gerrit Smith at the church. Garrison is greatly impressed by the buildings in Chicago."
