"Typed transcript. William Lloyd Garrison says that \"this brief and hasty letter must answer as a substitute for my personal attendance\" at the New Hampshire Anti-Slavery Society. He urges that matters of immediate importance are not overlooked, including the nation's ill-treatment of Mexico, the danger of war, and the annexation of Texas. If Texas is annexed to the Union, Garrison does not \"see any hope for the slaves of the south---for the freemen of the North---or for our guilty, though still beloved country.\" He hopes the resolutions passed by the American Anti-Slavery Society and the New England Convention will be read at the meeting."
