"Holograph, signed with initials. Letter written in pencil. William Lloyd Garrison called on Phoebe Jackson, Mrs. D.A. Taylor, Julia Randall, and Mr. & Mrs. John Anthony. He was invited to dinner by Sarah Tillinghast. William C. Townsend and Mary Townsend, Sophia Tillinghast, and others were there. Garrison writes: \"I am glad to report feeling less pain in my arm and shoulder this morning than I have yet had, and had a very good night's rest. The wet pack is very soothing.\" Ambrose E. Burnside will get a big majority in the state election."
