"Holograph, signed. The state legislature has voted on the subject of slavery with an extraordinary change in the abolitionists' favor. There has been a strong effort by their enemies to suprress all the resolutions on the final vote. William Lloyd Garrison trusts that the right of trial by jury will be secured for runaway slaves in Massachusetts. Garrison mourns the death of Ann Greene Chapman, mentioning her bequeaths to abolitionists and abolitionist causes. Rev. Samuel J. May officiated her funeral."
