"Not William Lloyd Garrison's handwriting; transcription perhaps in the hand of Wendell Phillips Garrison. This letter is concerned with William Lloyd Garrison's poor health. Already sick with a severe cold and cough, the effort exerted to read an address and be heard at the New England Anti-Slavery Convention injured Garrison's lungs. Dr. Warren, Dr. Wesselhoeft, Dr. Greene, Dr. Bowditch all disagree on the prognosis. He has been examined by two clairvoyants, who also disagree. On the verso, there is this unrelated typed announcement: \"Lost!!!! A fine large mastiff six years old answers to name of Bruno $10 reward!!!!! Will be paid to anyone returning said dog to John Potts Esq., Dobbs Ferry, Westchester Co., New York State.\""
