"Holograph, signed. William Lloyd Garrison commends Isaac Knapp on the most recent issue of the Liberator and thinks that it is one of the best they have ever published. Charles C. Burleigh's article on the Boston riot is admirable. Garrison sends an introduction to his own account of being seized and put in jail. Garrison gives his reasons for coming to Boston, which include the continuation of the Liberator, George Thompson's case, and breaking up housekeeping. Garrison agrees with Isaac Knapp that city authorities are determined to put down the anti-slavery cause. Garrison wants to know who wrote the sonnet that was addressed to him."
