"Holograph, signed. William Lloyd Garrison, with his wife Helen and baby, went to New York on the sudden invitation of Lewis Tappan. He tells about the baby's explorations on the steamship while Helen was seasick. Garrison regards this convention of agents of high importance to advance the anti-slavery cause and unequalled in interest. Beriah Green, Theodore D. Weld, and Charles Stuart were the chief speakers. Garrison spoke repeatedly and briefly and enumerates the topics he discussed. He was kindly received by all. His health has improved. Mary S. Parker is ill and her father had two shocks of palsy."
