notes
"Holograph, signed with initials. William Lloyd Garrison has arrived home, safe and sound. William L. Garrison writes to Fanny G. Villard: \"Knowing where and how you are situated, the distance between us will hereafter seem greatly abridged.\" Garrison met Henry Anthony in New York, and they traveled together. Garrison lectured at the Academy of Music to a large audience. He thinks President Andrew Johnson will attempt a coup d'etat against Congress."
