Himes will leave his parish because of opposition to his abolitionist ideas. Garrison gives the names of board members who will collect signatures in the various wards of the city for use in petitions respecting the abolition of slavery in the District of Columbia. Angelina E. Grimke's appeal has sold rapidly."
