"Holograph, signed. William Lloyd Garrison tells of his experiences before going to the convention this morning. He was moved by the \"Autobiography of a Female Slave\" (printed anonymously by Mattie Griffith) as he read it on the train. He was met at the depot by Oliver Johnson and Theodore Tilton. He describes an evening party at Mr. Judson's that included Henry Ward Beecher, Dr. Marsh, etc. At the party, Mr. Tilton read from the first volume of the Liberator, then Garrison spoke, and an interesting discussion followed. Lucretia Mott had dinner waiting for Garrison in Philadelphia. The anti-slavery fair opened in Philadelphia last evening. Garrison was surrounded by friends. Tonight, Garrison will speak at the fair."
