He sympathizes with the bereaved and said he would have come to Mr. Child's funeral if he had known about it in time. He said he worked for Mr. Child in 1827 as a compositor for the Massachusetts Journal, of which Mr. Child was the editor. Praises Mr. Child's understanding of the evils of slavery, and refers to a speech he made at the first annual meeting of the New England Anti-Slavery Society on Jan. 16, 1833. Praises Mrs. Child's writings in favor of reforms. Sends a photograph of himself."
