"Holograph, signed \"Your loving Father.\" William Lloyd Garrison just returned from a trip to the White Mountains with the Villard family. He did not go to the top of Mount Washington with them, owing to an attack of dysentery. He was surprised that he had to pay $4.50 for a hotel room. He enjoyed the scenery. Although Garrison's vision \"is getting somewhat dim with years, I can nevertheless see enough of the beauty and grandeur of nature to cause unspeakable delight, and to excite the most reverential feelings-- ...\" Garrison was pleased to learn that Wendell Phillips Garrison and his wife liked Osterville more than Watch Hill."
