"Holograph, signed. William Lloyd Garrison has been unable to earn a penny since his two crippling falls. He is very grateful for the Travelers Insurance Company policy that Samuel Joseph May took out in his behalf. He received a letter from the agent of the company \"intimating a readiness to make prompt settlement at any time.\" He describes his injury and the treatments he has received. Recently, he has been trying \"magnetism at the hands of a healing medium (a lady) in Boston, and begin to feel some good effects from it; so that, with the aid of Turkish baths, powerful manipulations, and above all, time, I begin to hope for ultimate deliverance, with no prmanent injury to my arm.\" He has done nothing about writing the history of the anti-slavery cause. He never kept a diary and his \"memory of persons and events is sadly defective.\" He enjoyed reading Samuel Joseph May's article in the Christian Register. Garrison cannot accept Samuel J. May's invitation, extended to him and his wife, to visit Syracuse because Mrs. Helen Eliza Garrison is \"too helpless to undertake such a journey.\" Fanny Garrison Villard is now in Zurich and will soon go to Munich."
