"Holograph, signed. The Rev. M. Shipherd of Chicago notified William Lloyd Garrison that Garrison has been elected a Vice President of the National Freedman's Aid Commission. The Commission was organized without consulting the other freedmen's aid societies and doesn't seem to be necessary. Garrison suggests holding a conference of delegates from all aid societies."
