William Lloyd Garrison and Ellis Gray Loring want John Anderson Collins to return home to resume in the general agency for the Massachusetts Anti-Slavery Society. All agency operations were suspended during Collins's absence; hence, friends of the Society were less disposed to contribute. This letter quotes the resolution passed at a special meeting of the Massachusetts Anti-Slavery Society requesting the return of John Anderson Collins. They send Collins their deepest sympathies for the assaults made on his character and mission."
