Garrison thinks it is ludicrous that Lewis Tappan, Frederick Douglass, McCune Smith, Goodell, and Gerrit Smith have called a convention for the purpose of nominating presidential candidates. The tone of the Republican Party is becoming more \"feeble and indefinite.\""
