She describes the people she saw, the houses where she dined and took tea, and the calls she made: \"...I am begun [sic] to entertain an idea that I was really something very extraordinary.\" Mr. Barton insisted that she call on his invalid wife. Returning to Boston, she found all well, except Maria Weston Chapman with a toothache. There is no news of Anne Warren Weston. Caroline wrote: \"Got Henry [Grafton Chapman] to clinch the house for me.\" She has another scholar, a Miss Eaton, and \"all things look bright.\" She acquired household equipment. She would like to be taken to Weymouth on Saturday. Quotes from a note that she received from Mrs. Bates: \"We think Caroline is undertaking rather too much. A boarding school in Boston never succeeded.\" There is cross-writing on the first page."
