Emerson understood that she would return and he made no move towards getting another teacher. The matter has occasioned him much uneasiness, but he is willing to ascribe it to a misunderstanding. He says: \"The young ladies have been incessant in their enquiries after you.\" Nothing has been determined about the high school. John F. Emerson continues: \"You say that you are willing to return for a whole quarter. I will wait 'till the above question is decided and will communicate with you immediately. If I continue in my own school, the services of no other lady would be as valuable to me as yours and it will give a great deal of satisfaction to have you return. ...\""
