notes: "Holograph, signed. Maria Weston Chapman would rejoice to see Mrs. Lucretia Mott attend the New England Anti-Slavery Convention; she wants Lucretia to stay at the Chapman's house. Anne Warren Weston just returned from New York and reports \"a battle won.\" Chapman comments on Henry Brewster Stanton and his relation to Daniel Wise and Alanson St. Clair. Chapman comments: \"They are planning a new organizaton.\" Chapman compares the recognition of such an organization to the introduction of a new planet into the solar system. The assessment of $5000 has been pledged by the Massachusetts Society. \"But ought we to pay a cent ...?\" Elizur Wright is here to edit the Abolitionist newspaper. This letter was written on the blank pages of a circular (flier), a reproduced invitation to the New England Anti-Slavery Convention, dated Boston, May 13th, 1839."
