"Holograph, signed. W. Ferguson Hutson is the secretary of the Committee of Vigilance of Prince William's Parish, South Carolina. The Committee will molest as much as possible all abolitionist agents. This letter is a savage criticism of \"Human Rights.\" He compares the employment of children in factories with slavery. W. Ferguson Hutson supposes that Levi Woodbury is the author of \"Human Rights.\" Hutson thinks Levi Woodbury must be actuated by \"some nefarious and hidden purpose.\" The South will \"sever the union\" to save its property. The South will take the law into its own hands to prevent the abolitionists from inciting the slaves to revolt. He hints that abolitionist agents will be lynched in Mississippi. He mentions rewards for the abduction of abolitionist leaders. In the postscript on page six, W. Ferguson Hutson asks William Lloyd Garrison to forward this letter to Mr. Levi Woodbury."
