Lucretia Ann Cowing would like to have sent \"the pieces in the papers\" about the Philadelphia Convention and about the wedding of Angelina E. Grimke, who was said to have black groomsmen and bridesmaids. Cowing reports a conversation with Joseph Veazey (the governor's son?) in which she told him that she was an abolitionist, and he said that \"all the abolitionists ought to be hung and I told him he would have to begin with me as I was in his power and as I was one of them.\" Cowing remarks: \"If you could only see the Gov.'s lady storm, and beat the poor slave you would think she was one of the furies.\" Cowing comments on news about various acquaintances."
