It is entitled, \"June, the King of Countr[y]man.\" The poem begins: \"There once was a man much as ever you all; When the British came over he flurried and frowned; ...\" On page two, following the poem, is the note: \"A very rough copy.\" This poem was written on a torn copy of a circular letter by Maria Weston Chapman to Dear Friend, dated Boston, 1840.
