When first scanning David Lee Child's article entitled, \"Where We Are,\" Abby K. Foster was confirmed in her belief that D. L. Child was \"totally unfit for the post he occupies.\" She points out passages in the article which she considers \"a heavier calumny against us than even New Organization has been guilty of.\" Hundreds of subscribers whom Abby Kelley Foster obtained for the Standard are \"come outers.\" Expecting D. L. Child's dismissal, Abby K. Foster was surprised to see a copy of his article in the last Liberator, without a word of condemnation. A reprint of David Lee Child's article, \"Where We Are,\" from the National Anti-Slavery Standard, appeared in the Liberator, Sept. 1, 1843."
