"Holograph, signed. Abby Kelley Foster asks Maria Weston Chapman's advice about ways of initiating a fair in Worcester. While Maria W. Chapman thinks that $300 may be raised here, Abby K. Foster will be satisfied with nothing less than $500. She expects to have a competent person take charge of her \"little one\" when \"we shall go to housekeeping on the first of April.\" Then, she may be able to stir up a few towns. She hopes that Stephen S. Foster will have his throat and lungs restored so that he can go to surrounding towns. It would be well for Caroline Weston and Mrs. [Oliver?] Johnson to come with the goods; their experience \"will be invaluable.\" Also, the presence of Maria W. Chapman's younger sisters would be a happy influence on some of the young ladies. She asks about the amount of debt of the American Society."
