notes: "Holograph, signed with initials. Anne Warren Weston gives an account of calls she made and her views of certain acquaintances. Having received the Liberator and Post newspapers, Anne disapproves \"of the whole spirit of the N.R. [Non Resistance] meeting.\" If she had been there, she would not have remained on the executive committee. Anne censors her comments as she describes a town scandal. She spent the evening at the John F. Emersons. She saw in the Post that Harriet Harris's husband hanged himself. She remarks on the preaching and appearance of Mr. Lambert. Anne's reluctance to accept an invitation for Sunday, led to a discussion of the Sabbath with Mrs. Beane, whose extreme clerical views make for a reserve between them. She \"thinks me a sinner depending on anti-slavery for salvation.\" Mr. Beane is going to preach on slavery. Anne will ask for comment on the negro pew question, \"which will be the real test.\""
