"Holograph, signed. This letter, begun on September 21, was written in the form of a journal, over several days. On her arrival, Anne Warren Weston found all well but Henry G. Chapman, who looked very delicate. Anne rode with the Chapmans to Roxbury over the Tremont Road to view a house which Henry G. Chapman had thought of buying. Describes callers. The Fair will not be held till Christmas. She quotes from a letter from Mrs. Lydia M. Child to Mrs. Maria W. Chapman, a passage that refers in a complimentary way to Lucia Weston. Caroline Weston has 33 scholars, \"exclusive of Emma and Lizzy [Chapman].\" Gives news of acquaintances. Mrs. Maria W. Chapman attended a board meeting of the Non Resistance Society at the house of Mrs. Thankful Southwick. Garrison's report was \"not so superior as some of his productions...\" Thomas Clarkson wrote Garrison that he had given up the Colonization Society. Father Theobald Mathew told George Bradburn that he regretted the decision of the London Conference as to women. Martha V. Ball was defeated in the Cambridgeport Female Society through the efforts of Emily Farwell. Abby Kelley has been \"terribly persecuted\" in Connecticut."
