"Holograph, signed. Edward Morris Davis acknowledges the receipt of Maria Weston Chapman's letter with the manuscript on the West India question; and Edward M. Davis and his wife received an invitation to attend the New England Convention. Since Edward M. Davis will not be able to attend both the New England and the American Society's meetings, he will go to New York. His parents will probably accept the Maria W. Chapman's invitation. His wife will not attend either convention. Maria W. Chapman's article for Edward M. Davis's tract was not long enough, but he will fill space with something of his own."
