Along the head edge, \"Lib. 29:35\", \"10\", and \"Jan. 31 1859\" are both written in pencil, while in the tail- spine corner, \"11\" is also written in pencil. There are also numerous annotations made in pencil throughout the letter, most often inserting commas and crossing out letters that are not included in the American spelling of specific words. The page seems to be a fragment of a letter as it begins mid-sentence and lacks a salutation."
