Parker, the victim of a conspiracy, accused of slave stealing, as I have been compelled to go with an armed band of friends ...\" In an effort to reimburse himself, Clay is going on a lecture tour, with two engagements already planned in Boston. He hopes to go farther north in New England and asks Garrison to aid his views. He is prepared to \"lecture on slavery or miscellaneous subjects to suit audiences.\" On the bottom of page one, there is a separate note by Samuel May, Jr., that reads: \"I conferred with W. Phillips with regard to the above and took action as I will tell you.\""
