Webb expresses enthusiasm for the Estlins, both \"Father & Daughter.\" Webb's interest in the anti-slavery cause has been for him \"an almost unmixed advantage.\" He refers to a prospective visit from Caroline Weston, informing her that his \"house is as large, as airy & as good a house as Mr. Estlin's---but it is not nearly so nicely furnished...\" Richard D. Webb is not as well off as Caroline Weston's present hosts. Webb explains: \"I have never been a very devoted & vehement man of business. If I had been, I would probably never have been known to you.\" Yesterday, Richard D. Webb resigned his membership in the Society of Friends; he explains this move. He thinks some of the best types of Quakers are found in Ireland. He regrets that he has nothing worthwhile to contribute to the Liberty Bell."
